arcata stuttgart was founded by Patrick Strub together with nineteen young, professional players of string instruments. The lively and stylistically assured performances of this young chamber orchestra quickly enabled it to win the favor of audiences.Ist trump cards include not only the flexibility of chamber music and precise technique, but also its wideranging repertoire, running from early Baroque to contemporary music. The ensemble has played premiere performances of a large number of contemporary works, some of which were dedicated to this orchestra.

Its more than five hundred concerts have allowed arcata stuttgart to establish itself firmly in the musical life of the state capital and the surrounding region. In addition, the orchestra has made a number of tours through Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, as well as Near East, Central America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

arcata stuttgart has made guest appearances several times at the Schleswig-Holstein-Festival, the Zeltmusikfestival in Freiburg, the Mozart Festival in Augsburg, the Schlossfestspiele in Schwetzingen, the Lake Constance Festival, the Mosel Festival and the Rheingau Summer Festival in Eltville, as well as international festivals in Como, Hong Kong, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Wellington and the Al-Bustan Festival in Beirut. Apart from working together with renowned, internationally famous soloists, arcata stuttgart is particularly committed to promoting young soloists.

The orchestra is regularly invited to participate in productions of Südwestrundfunk Radio. It now has a noteworthy discography with Hänssler CLASSIC, all recordings conducted by Patrick Strub.
